Ministry Needs

St. Catherine of Siena Parish is a vibrant Stewardship faith community with over 50 individual Ministries which benefit from the time and talent of our parishioners and meet the needs of our large, active parish.
We invite you to peruse the MINISTRY section of this website and learn about all our Ministries.  We are eager for you to avail yourself of our services as well as become involved in one or more of our Ministries.
At present, the Ministries which are most in need of help are listed below.
Please feel free to contact the appropriate Ministry Leader.

SCS Choir
We are looking for new members to join the SCS Choir. If you sing professionally or just in the shower, we have a place for you. All are welcome!
Our rehearsals take place each Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM in the choir loft, and we sing at the 10:45 Mass each Sunday.
Please see Albert Ganter for any questions or email him at: Hope to see you there!
For more information please contact Carol Orlando at the rectory office at 973-239-7960.
Various Mass Ministries need help distributing books before Mass and collecting them afterwards.
There are sign-up sheets on the refreshment table for people to bring juice or donuts, to read intercessions (available at the rectory in advance) or to be the Offertory
Family who brings up the gifts.
You will receive a reminder email or call prior to Mass on Sunday.

Any questions please email” or call 973.857.2984
Altar Linen Ministry
If you are looking to volunteer for a ministry but do not have a lot of extra time, participation in this ministry is just what you are
looking for. We currently have five teams made up of 2 people each. Each team takes one month, breaking it down into two weeks each to launder the linens used at Mass. What is required? The altar linens are picked up on Sunday after Mass and taken home to be washed and ironed and then returned to Church. You do this on your own schedule!

If you are interested and want to know more about this important ministry call Carol Orlando at the rectory office, 973-238-7960. And remember we all have something to offer back to God for his goodness to us.

Ministry to the Homebound,

providing communion to those who cannot leave their homes to attend Mass, is looking for volunteers.  A volunteer must be an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.  If not, and you desire to assist, you will be trained by Msgr. Slipe.  It is easy to do, does not take up too much of one’s time and can be done at a time that is workable for volunteer and the person they visit.  In most cases, the visits are every other week, and the volunteer would be assigned no more than two homes to visit.  Those who are presently visiting homes find it to be a very satisfying and rewarding experience.  For more information, please contact Mike Mulieri by calling 973-239-1542 or email him at
