The Spiritual Life Ministries promote a greater awareness of
faith and spiritual growth while meeting the liturgical needs of the
parish.
Readers (Lectors)
Minister at liturgy by proclaiming the scriptures. They should possess
a devotion to the Word of God and be willing to develop public speaking
skills. Readers are given a period of formation and provided resource
materials.
On average,
ministers serve once a month, at the weekend Mass of their choice or on
weekday mornings. All men and women parishioners of mature faith are
welcome to serve.

Altar
Servers
Assist the presider at liturgy once or twice a month. Maturity to
ensure an understanding of responsibilities, the ability to perform
them and an appropriate reverence are essential. A brief period of
formation and training is scheduled. On-going renewal occurs as needed.
Male and female parishioners from the fifth grade and up are welcome to
serve.

Music Ministry
Includes cantors, adult choir, family choir and musicians, is committed
to the enrichment of the sung prayer of the assembly at worship.
Cantors lead the assembly in song; the adult choir provides choral
liturgical music at the 10:45 AM Sunday Mass and on special occasions;
family choir leads the singing at 9:15 Family Mass. Musicians often
accompany the song of the assembly. New members are always welcome. In
addition to voices, a current need includes a music librarian (someone
to help with office work 2-3 hours a week.) Choir practice is held
every Wednesday night. See also Musci

Nursing Home
Visitation Ministry
Serves as an outreach to residents in local nursing
homes. Volunteers assist at Mass and visit with patients, embracing
them within our extended parish family and engendering a feeling of
inclusion and belonging.
Volunteer hours are flexible. A
loving heart, the gifts of self and time, and the desire to improve the
residents' quality of life are the only requirements for this ministry.

Jr. Rosary
Society (Rosebuds)
An offshoot of the Rosary Society focusing on the life of Mary through
prayer and community service. We meet twice a month on Mondays from
3:00 to 4:30 PM. One of our meetings takes place in school and the
other is a field trip. During the in-house meeting we pray the rosary
and prepare for the next field trip. Our field trips have been to the
Cedar Grove Manor nursing home and the St. Catherine's infirmary in
West Caldwell. During our visits we spend time with the residents and
do a craft that we leave for them. This program is currently offered to
girls in grades two through eight.
