The Parish Life Ministries nurture our community life and reach out to our children, youth, young adults, families and adults.

Carnival
Carnival is by far the largest and most wide reaching Parish event. Held annually on the first weekend in June, the St. Catherine's Carnival offers fun for the whole family. From games and rides for young and old, Kid's World in Siena Hall, to the popular food court with its renowned Italian zeppoles and a Super 50/50 to conclude the weekend, it is no surprise why people from far and wide head to Cedar Grove in early June. Carnival is an event where you can see the generosity and stewardship of our parishioners, young and old, in action, making this a long and beloved tradition of our Parish. Whether you're able to volunteer for 3 days or 3 hours, your participation in this event will be gratefully appreciated.

The St. Catherine HSA is a member of the Archdiocesan Home and School Federation that serves as a lobbying group for the rights of Catholic education.

General Meetings are scheduled once or twice a year. Board Meetings are held monthly, September through June. Board duties vary according to position. Members serve a two-year term. Membership requires being a parent/guardian of an SCS student.

Small Christian Communities (SCC)
Offer parishioners an opportunity to grow in faith through prayer, shared discussion and scripture reflection, in a small group context. This fosters friendships and enhances learning how to make faith more a part of daily life. Meetings are dependent on the participants, with Core Team and parish staff guidance. SCC is open to all adult parishioners.

The SCC Core Team meets approximately every two to three weeks. A minimum one-year commitment to Core Team to develop a program that incorporates the mission of SCC is required for Core Team Ministry.

The Welcoming Committee
Advances the parish mission to be a "welcoming community" by hosting "Welcome Brunches" for new parishioners every six months in the rectory; occasionally serving "coffee and" after Masses; and at times providing hospitality for parish functions. Committee members call and welcome new parishioners and encourage their involvement and participation so that they may know they belong and are vital to the life we share as a parish community.

Committee meetings are scheduled twice a year. Follow up work is handled by phone. All parishioners are welcome to participate in this ministry.
