Frank and Simira Farro
Francesco Fierro (changed at Ellis Island to Farro) and Simira Casarella left Avellino Province in Italy after marrying in Bisaccia in 1894. They settled in Cedar Grove in 1898 at Peckman Towne Road.
.
He farmed the Essex County Overbrook Hospital grounds which provided all dairy products and produce to the Psychiatric Hospital and Tuberculosis Hospital at the time.

He wanted the window to remember his wife who passed in 1938.
Pascal & Laura La Grutta:
Pascal La Grutta immigrated from Italy in 1909 to NYC through Ellis Island. Laura (nee De Giglio) was born in NYC. After they married they moved to Newark where they lived and worked until moving to Cedar Grove. Pascal was an engineer who pioneered in the plastics industry. Among his inventions and developments were the plastic toilet seat, plastic musical instruments including the harmonica and ukulele, plastic combs and razors, plastic toy trucks and cars, plastic corn holders and dishes. He also perfected both the plastic and styrofoam hinges found on egg cartons and various other containers such as pill bottles.
They moved to Cedar Grove in 1939. They purchased a lot (now 78 East Bradford Avenue) and built their home in which they lived until 1966. Laura stopped working at Prudential Insurance company after moving to Cedar Grove. She was the sacristan at St. Catherine's from its opening until they moved to Delaware in 1966.
