Ministry Spotlight: Marriage Preparation

"More important than the wedding gowns, cocktail hours, floral centerpieces and the DJ's playlist are decisions couples need to make about their marriage, for example:
         How many kids will they have?
        Will they both work?
        How will they come to terms with         religious beliefs?

Couples who choose to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at SCS are guided through our MARRIAGE PREPARATION PROGRAM for which each ENGAGED COUPLE is assigned a SPONSOR COUPLE, a married, parishioner couple.

The two couples MEET THREE TIMES in the Sponsor Couple's home, at a mutually-convenient time, to discuss TOPICS RELEVANT TO MARRIAGE.
Each gathering is focused on a specific topic from the program For Better and For Ever. Family Traditions; Sexuality, Intimacy & Parenthood; and Marital Spirituality are among the topics discussed.

At the conclusion of the Program, the Sponsor Couple submits an Assessment of how the Sessions went in ensuring that the Engaged Couple has addressed critical issues.
